Scott graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible-Theology. He then studied New Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he received a Master’s of Theology. Scott continued his education at Colorado Christian University, where he studied counseling and trained as a therapist under Dr. Larry Crabb and Dr. Dan Allender, receiving a Master’s in biblical counseling. Finally, Scott returned to Dallas Theological Seminary where he studied to receive a Doctor’s degree in Spiritual Formation. In addition, Scott has also completed advanced training with the Imago Relationship Institute and was given full certification as an Imago Relationship Therapist (CIRT). For 18 years Scott has served as a pastor at several churches around the country. He served as the Executive Director of Grace Counseling Center in Detroit, Michigan for 10 years, and has been serving as the Director/President of AHM since 2008. Scott regularly leads weekend marriage intensives, as well as, men’s conferences/retreats, soul care groups for pastors, and roundtable discussions that help Christian counselor/therapists think theologically. He is currently working on a book that will be entitled: “Manhood: A Stewardship of Power, God’s Search for a Man After His Own Heart.” Scott has been married to his wife Joy (who truly is the Joy of his life) for nearly 40 years, and they have four children and three grandchildren.
Director of Community and Discipleship
Randy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling from Triune Biblical University. He currently leads AHM’s Men’s Story Weekends and Coram Deo small groups, as well as, having been tasked with overseeing AHM’s daily operations. For over 15 years he has worked with men, viewing himself as a “spiritual companion” whose role has been to come along side them for the purpose of offering hope and direction. Randy is especially gifted at helping men find their unique place and purpose in God’s Larger Story by exposing those hidden barriers (from their past) that are preventing this, and by inviting men into a new, fully-masculine way of relating to God and others—i.e. in a way that actively trusts God by taking responsibility for creating homes and communities where people and relationships can flourish. This is Randy’s own desire and personal commitment to his wife Kathy, to whom he has been married for 37 years, as well as, to his two adult children and two grandchildren.
Kelly is the kind voice on the other end of the AHM phone line and the cheerful smile that welcomes all our guests at the AHM office. Kelly joined our team in December 2016, taking on the jobs of office administrator and chief candy-dish-filler. Kelly has been a wonderful blessing to AHM, not only because she keeps the staff organized, but also more importantly because she truly reflects Christ’s love to every person she serves. In her spare time, Kelly keeps busy with her amazing husband and teen twins.
